The contemplation of little brothers

Many of us have to endure them, and those who don't wish they did. For those who don't have the joy and pain of little brothers, let me enlighten you.

Often, those young males are trying to prove themselves a man. It often results in skinned knees, painful elbows, and tears. They want to be tough, and a "big kid". They also put on a air of, I am so way cooler than you. You can't even tell what kind of car that is, or what kind of airplane that is, I mean come on, it's only a couple miles high in the air!!!! Their false bravado only shows their insecurity, and desperateness for our affection. Though most would never admit it, (I admire the few who do), they so badly wanted the older siblings aproval, that they will do almost anything to do it. They want to know they are loved, and they want to be admired. I believe that today's world beats down boys. They try and make them less manly. It is a sisters duty to build them up, and to help them. I am one of those older sisters who doesn't help in the building up of younger brothers. I try and make him tough, when what he really needs is affection, and love. Not constantly pampering him, and oh my goodness he fell!!!! *runs screaming* are you all right?!?!?! Part of it is because I want a brother who will protect me when I need it, and will be kind, considerate, gentlemanly, and all those things.

Brothers around the world need our help. They don't need toughening up by their sisters, (leave that to other brothers, and guy friends) They need sisterly love, and true friendship, the kind that can only come from their older or younger sisters.

I think you're right! I'm just realizing this myself, and not just with brothers, but with my guy friends. They need us to support and serve them, and that will make them into better men- not tearing them down and trying to slap them into being gentlemen!

I realized this by reading that book your sister gave me, For Young Women Only. Good for you for hitting on it by yourself. ;-)
